Bathroom Renovations · Stockport

Bathrooms taken from strip-out to finished suite.

Bathrooms are what we are known for. The old suite comes out, the pipework and wiring are moved to suit the new layout rather than the old one, the walls and floor are prepared properly, and the room goes back tiled, sealed and working. Building, plumbing, electrics and tiling all come from the same team, so nobody is waiting on a plumber who has not turned up.

One Team, Start to Finish

Strip-out, first fix plumbing, electrics, plastering, tiling and the final fit are all ours. That is one price, one programme and one person to ring.

/02

Layouts That Actually Work

Moving a soil pipe or a stud wall is usually what turns a cramped bathroom into a usable one. We will tell you what is possible before you buy anything.

/03

Tiling and Sealing Done Right

Walls made flat before a tile goes on, falls set correctly into the tray or the wet floor, and the sealing detailed so nothing leaks in two years.

/04

Cleaned Down Every Night

It is the only bathroom in most houses, so the room is left usable where it can be and the house is swept and cleared at the end of each day.

Questions

Asked and answered.

How long does a full bathroom take?

A straightforward strip-out and refit in an average family bathroom is usually a couple of weeks from the first day to handover, and that is with the same team on it every day rather than trades coming and going. What stretches it out is anything structural: moving a soil stack, taking out a stud wall, or opening up a floor and finding the joists need attention. We will give you a realistic run of days at the quote, and if something is found once the room is open you will hear about it that day rather than at the end.

Can you move the bath, toilet or shower to a different wall?

Usually yes, and it is often the whole point of the job. Basins and baths are straightforward to move. Toilets are the one to think about, because the waste needs a fall to the soil stack and there is a limit to how far it can travel before it needs a pump or a boxed-in run. We look at where the stack is, what is under the floor and what the room is being used for, then tell you which moves are worth doing and which will cost more than they are worth.

Do you supply the suite and the tiles or do we?

Either. Plenty of customers enjoy choosing the suite and the tiles themselves, and we are happy to fit what you have bought. If you would rather not, we will point you at the merchants we use and get the lot ordered. What we will do either way is tell you honestly if something is going to be a problem before it arrives, because a bargain shower tray that flexes or a tile that will not cut cleanly costs more in labour than it saved on the invoice.

Will you do the electrics as well?

Yes. Extractor fans, shaver sockets, downlights, underfloor heating mats and heated mirrors are all part of a normal bathroom for us, and doing them alongside the first fix plumbing is much cheaper than pulling somebody back in afterwards. It also means the cables are chased in before the walls are made good rather than surface-run at the end.

Do you fit wet rooms and walk-in showers?

Yes, and they are a bigger share of what we do every year. A wet room lives or dies on the falls and the tanking, so the floor has to be set up correctly and the whole area sealed before a tile is laid. That is preparation you cannot see once it is finished, which is exactly why it is the part people get caught out on. We will also be straight with you about whether your floor build-up will take a level access tray before you commit to one.

What happens to the old suite and the waste?

It goes with us. The old suite, the tiles, the packaging and the offcuts are all cleared as part of the job, not left in the garden for you to sort out. The house gets swept and cleaned down at the end of every day, because you still have to live in it while the work goes on.
